Gender-neutral terms

Both in writing and speaking, I am committed as far as possible to the use of inclusive language.

However, in practice the options available in normal usage are either clumsy or ugly.

So I have invented a range of terminology that I use throughout this website and recordings.

"His /hers" becomes "hes"

"Himself/herself" becomes "hesself"

"He/she" becomes "se"

"Person" as an attachment so words such as 'chair...' becomes "per'n" (pronouced as one syllable)

"Man/woman"  or "men/women" becomes "wo'an" or "wo'en"

"Him/her" becomes "hem"

"Mankind" or "humankind" becomes "hu'mkind"
